Cornell Night at the RPO & Dinner

A hardy group of alums braved the snow and St. Patrick Day partyers to enjoy a three-course dinner at Veneto restaurant, followed by a stunning evening of great Russian composers with the RPO.

Scotch Tasting, Feb. 9

About 35 alums and their guests took an educational and fun journey through Scotland comparing and contrasting scotches. It's a great way to learn about them as well as sample some expensive scotches. Thanks to the folks at Lisa's Liquor Barn, Penfield.

Cornell Hockey

An enthusiastic group of alums and their families dined at Statler Hall Saturday evening, then trooped up to Lynah Rink. Cheering didn't help rescue a disappointing loss to Darmouth 2-4.

Cornell Cares Day, Jan. 7

A capacity crowd of volunteers of all ages gathered to work at the Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross on Saturday. We assembled nearly 400 kits filled with personal hygiene items, which are given to people affected by disasters. Thanks to all for giving back to our community!

New Dean of Johnson Highlights
Founder's Day Jan. 7

Dean Mark W. Nelson entertained and enlightened alums with his vision for the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. He headlined Founder's Day at the Country Club of Rochester. An expert in accounting, he also explained his research on the psychological and economic factors that influence business decisions.

Volunteers Always Needed

Did you know that all alumni in the Rochester area are automatically members of the Rochester Cornell Club? No dues required.

We invite you to come to our events, join a committee, propose ways the Club can do a better job, or volunteer to help. Specifically, these committees need members:

  • Scholarship: A new committee to administer our annual scholarship program for area Cornell applicants
  • Finance: To oversee scholarship fund investments
  • Programming: To help plan events

If you like speaking to CU applicants, consider joining the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network. CAAAN members contact local candidates who have applied to Cornell, to answer their questions about attending Cornell. We have hundreds of applicants in our area, many of whom go unassigned.
